Case study, Nail studio

Maison Onyx Nails,
a studio that finally matches the art.

A boutique nail studio known for sculptural 3D florals and one-of-a-kind sets. Every booking used to arrive as a screenshot and a paragraph of context. We built a calm, branded booking system where every inspiration photo, nail size and add-on lives in one place.

The pain

Beautiful work, buried in admin.

Onyx is the kind of studio clients fly in for. Sculptural florals, chrome cat eyes, full sets that take three hours and look like jewellery. The work was never the problem — everything around it was.

  • ·Inspiration photos sat in DMs, lost between memes and reel replies.
  • ·Add-ons (chrome, cat eye, soak-off, length) had to be quoted manually for every booking.
  • ·Nail sizes from previous visits had to be guessed or remeasured.
  • ·Saturday no-shows on a 3-hour set wiped out a full afternoon of revenue.
  • ·Allergies and preferences (no gel, quiet room) lived only in memory.

What we built

A studio OS, built around the client chair.

A branded booking experience out front, a single owner dashboard behind it. Bookings, clients, nail measurements, availability, stats and deposit rules — all in one place.

Upcoming bookings with services, add-ons, deposit status and inspiration photo indicator
Every booking carries its service, add-ons, total, deposit and inspiration photo. No more digging through messages at midnight.
Inspiration photo attached to a client booking
The inspo image lives on the booking. One tap from the appointment, exactly when she needs it.
Calendar view of bookings for the week
List or calendar, depending on the day. Both stay in sync with the public booking page.
Client profile with nail measurements per finger and notes
A nail map per client. Each finger measured once, remembered forever. Plus notes for the small things (quiet room, no gel).
Photos of finished nail sets attached to a client profile
Past sets attached to the client. Returning regulars get continuity, not guesswork.
Opening hours configuration for each weekday
Opening hours she controls herself. Closed Monday and Sunday — the booking page just knows.
Deposit and no-show protection settings powered by Stripe
A required deposit on every booking, collected automatically via the built-in Stripe integration. No-shows stopped being a Saturday tax.
Monthly stats with total bookings, revenue, most popular service and no-show count
68 bookings, $8,840, classic full set still on top. The truth about the month, in three seconds.

The leverage

Where the real wins came from.

Inspiration photos stopped disappearing.

Clients attach the photo at booking — it lives on the appointment. No more scrolling through messages for the reference five minutes before the client sits down.

Add-ons sold themselves.

Chrome, cat eye, soak-off and length presented as choices in the flow. The average ticket went up because clients picked upgrades themselves, without an awkward ask.

Nail measurements became an asset.

One measurement per finger, saved once. Tips pre-set before the client arrives, less time in the chair, more sets per day.

Deposits ended Saturday losses.

A 3-hour set is too expensive to lose to a no-show. A required deposit, collected automatically via the built-in Stripe integration, turned that risk into a non-event and paid for the system in week one.

"I used to start every set looking for the inspo photo. Now it's already on the booking, with her sizes and notes. I just create."
